The Papillon Fine Bedding shredded memory foam pillow lets you set the height that suits you. It is filled with soft, shredded pieces of memory foam that move to follow the shape of the head and neck, and a zip on the side gives access to the fill. Take out a little foam to lower the loft, or leave it full for a higher, fuller feel.

Because the foam is shredded rather than one solid block, the pillow is soft and moldable and can be shaped by hand. The small pieces leave space between them, so the pillow does not feel as dense as a solid foam block, and the pieces settle back into place after you move.

The cover is a quilted knit fabric with an open dot weave and a piped edge that gives the pillow a neat, tailored look. The quilted surface adds a soft layer between you and the foam.

Side sleepers and back sleepers can adjust the loft to fill the space between the head, neck and shoulder. Stomach sleepers can take out more foam for a lower profile. The pillow is sold individually.

How to adjust the loft
Unzip the cover, take out small handfuls of foam until the pillow feels right, then zip it closed again. Keep any removed foam in a sealed bag in case you want to add it back later. Fluff the pillow by hand to spread the foam evenly.

Care
Remove the cover and machine wash it on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Air dry the cover or tumble dry on low heat. Do not wash or tumble dry the foam. Spot clean the foam with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Put the cover back on only when both parts are completely dry.

Good to know
The pillow may arrive compressed in its packaging. Remove it from the bag, shake it well and allow 24 to 48 hours to reach full loft. New memory foam can have a light odor when unpacked, which usually fades within a day or two in a ventilated room. Measurements and weight are approximate and may vary slightly between pillows.
